The Development of eLearning Lessons on Embedded System Projects

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to develop e-learning lessons on Embedded System Projects, to examine the lessons’ effectiveness and to evaluate students’ achievement focusing on practical skills. Six e-learning lessons designed by the researcher were undergone quality check by five specialists in the subject contents, instructional material design and presentation techniques. To examine effectiveness, the lessons were trailed with a group of computer technology students who were studying at Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep in semester 2 academic year 2011. The students were purposefully selected and 25 students, with the interest in completing an embedded system project, volunteered to participate in the research. At the end of the lessons, the students completed a practical test. The research instruments included the e-learning lessons and the performance test. Statistical analyses were carried out for the mean, standard deviation and t test.
It was found that the e-learning lessons had a good quality. The effectiveness value of the e-learning lessons was 97.15/84.67, which exceeded the common E1/E2 standard. The students’ achievement level in the practical domain was at 84.67 percent.
