A Development of Online Course Concerning with Foundry Engineering

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and determine the effectiveness of online courses concerning with foundry engineering. The relevant approaches for study were the online course, the posttest and the test for the assessment of study-achievement. The developed online course for this study was comprised of ; 1) fundamental of foundry engineering, 2) the sand-mold, 3) the sand for molding development, and 4) implementation of sand-mold. The study was carried on with 30 samplers. They were the arbitrary people who interested in the concerned processes of foundry engineering. The study was applied to the samplers by pretest performing to determine the background-knowledge of the samplers. After that the samplers were assigned to attain the knowledge concerning with engineering via the developed online course by themselves. Finally, the posttest after online course self study were applied to the samplers accompanied with the test for study achievement.
From the study it was found that, the effectiveness of the online course concerning with foundry engineering was 81.22/84.66 which than the specified criteria of 80/80. It was also found that the achievement of the samplers after online courses self-study was significantly increased about .05. It can be therefore concluded that developed online course concerning with foundry engineering can be applied for self-study of the arbitrary people or the students in Rajamangla University of Technology Krungthep who have to take the course of foundry engineering. The contribution of this study is the self-study via the developed online course can be performed anywhere and anytime.
